If you can't stand the heat, it’s not always easy to get out of the kitchen, especially if you cook for a living.
People want their cheese steaks no matter how hot it is.
“They don't care -- they just want a cheese steak. They don’t care if you are sweating.”
Chuck Sanford cooks the meat on a grill inside a small food cart on Independence Mall. He says it gets to be at least 130 degrees inside the stand:
“I cook steaks all day no matter how hot.”
When he asked why he does it, he says for the customer.
He also sells bottles of water and sports drinks -- both of which have been in hot demand.
